Former City Youth Weds in Brooklyn
Mr. and Mrs. Warren C. Rockwell, of 418 Woodlawn Avenue, have just returned from Brooklyn, N.Y., where they attended the wedding of their son, Thomas, formerly of this city, to Miss Jessie Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Smith, Island Cove, Newfoundland.
The wedding took place at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, N.Y., with Rev. Townley officiating.
The bridal party consisted of Mrs. Elsie Gilman, sister of the bride, as the matron of honor; John Haines as the best man, Mrs. Idela Reitmeyer, sister of the groom as bridesmaid and Paul Reitmeyer and Thomas Haines, ushers.
Miss Smith was attired in a white satin gown, Queen Anne pattern, with a veil of rose point lace. She carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Mrs. Gilman wore a blue taffeta grown and Mrs. Reitmeyer a dubonnet grown, each carrying a bouquest of tea roses.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother in law, John Gilman.
Mr. Rockwell attended the Sunbury High School and is well known in this city. He is employed by the A & P food stores in the capacity of assistant manager, at one of the large supermarkets in Brooklyn.
A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reitmeyer, 48 Canton Court, where the bride and groom will be home to their friends upon returning from their honeymoon.
