- It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Freeman Archibald Curtis, age 79, from Hatchat Cove, at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on February 12, 2011. Predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Minnie; wife, Loretta, and brother, Lester. He leaves to mourn his passing, sons, Eliab (Doris), Terry (Diane), Paul (Brigitte); daughter Beverley (Mark Cook); grandchildren, Janelle, Steven (Kandis), Amanda, David, Matthew, Jeremy, Mason and Dylan, great granddaughter, Adalyn Curtis; sisters, Lillian Fisher, Margaret (Gerald) Wall, Maisie (Raymond) Hawkins; brothers, David (Dorothy), Albert and Alonzo (Michelle), sister-in-law, Maude Curtis and also a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at St. Stephens Church, Hatchet Cove from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 with interment following at the United Church Cemetery, Hatchet Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour, Random Island.
