Passed away peacefully at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Saturday, May 14, 2005, William James Avery, aged 81 years, of Southport. Predeceased by his daughter Barbara (1950); brothers Chesley, Wilfred and Clarence; and sister Dorothy Tippett. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Myra of 57 years; daughters Elaine Stringer (Garfield) at Brampton, ON and Evelyn Avery at Clarenville; son Winston at Lethbridge, Bonavista Bay; grandchildren Melanie Stringer (Terry), Philip Churchill (Renee) and Lee Stringer (Tenille); great-grandchildren Lucas, Brooklyn and Liam; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Hearts Ease. Funeral service held on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, from Bethany United Church, Southport, with interment at the Southport United Church Cemetery.
