- Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Veterans Pavilion on April 1, 2008, Eli William Rogers, age 89 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Jeanette (Palmer); son Wayne; stepsons Ray Palmer (Wanda); Greg Palmer; step-daughters Bev (Reg Legge), Kim (Dean Osmond); eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also leaving two brothers: Frank (Marjorie), Aubrey (Bernice); step-brother Dolf Wiseman (Vivian); six sisters: Mal Pippard, Levine (Al Cullimore), Mary (Frazer) Morgan, Lucy Hawley, Gertrude (Doug Elton), Margaret Rose, step-sister Ruth Payton; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. Eli has been a long time member of the Avalon Lodge, Neptune Lodge, as well as an honourary member of Lodge Conception; also a WWII Veteran serving with Royal Navy and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch I. At his request, cremation has taken place. Visitation at Carnell's Funeral Home on Friday, April 4 from 10:00 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 5 from 10:00 - 12 noon. Funeral Service at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Upper Gullies at 2:00 p.m. with Interment at The Field of Honor, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
