- SIMMONS, Flora Delphine - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Nov 30, 2001, after a lengthy illness, Flora Delphine Simmons, aged 65, of Robinson's Bight, Random Island. Predeceased by daughter Sandra in 1955. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Reginald; sons Ernest (Alvina), Randy (Barbara) and Rick (Faye) at Robinson's Bight, and Roger (Lori) at Paradise; daughters Vera (Jim Cramm) at North West Brook, Bernice (Enos Marsh) and Cavelle (Jerry Martin) at Hickman's Harbour, Linda Legge and Christine (Brian King) at Shoal Harbour and Corrine at Paradise; 21 grand-children and nine great-grandchildren; brothers Jim (Joyce) at Jamestown, Eric (Beatrice), Gladstone, Allan (Meta) and Alonzo (Janet) at Southport, Lloyd (Bonnie) at Caplin Cove; and sisters Millicent (Hector Lambert) at Jamestown and Francis (Lewis Kelly) at Southport; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Remains rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. Funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 3, from the United Church, Hickman's Harbour, conducted by Capt. and Mrs. Randy Hale of the Salvation Army. Interment at the Salvation Army cemetery Lower Lance Cove. Donations in her memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association (Newfoundland and Labrador branch) and the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
