- STANFORD, Reginald "Skipper" - It's with great sadness that, we the family, of Reginald "Skipper" Stanford, a fisherman from the Battery, announce his sudden and peaceful passing at the Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, January 15, 2012 aged 85. Predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Ruby; his parents William and Florence Stanford; brother Ron Stanford and sister Dorothy Cole; and brother-in-laws Patrick Dunne, Clayton Bugler, and Albert Corrigan; sister-in-law Joan Sainsbury. Left to celebrate his wonderful life is his loving son and best friend Don (Ann Marie); his adoring grandsons who gave him much joy, Donny (Shelley) and Stephen (Kyle), and their mother Lori; and one very precious great-granddaughter Hailey; his brother George and wife Jenny; his sisters Helen Bugler and Phyllis Corrigan; and his sisters-in-law Ella Dunne and Stella Stanford, and brothers-in-law Frank Sainsbury and Russell Sainsbury; as well as a large number of nephews, nieces, a large circle of relatives and friends; and a very special friend of the family Tony Clowe. We like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Andrew Hutton; the staff at Hoyles-Escasoni Complex; the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-9pm. Funeral service to be held from Barrett's Chapel on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow the service.
