It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alonzo (Lonzo) A. Compton announce his passing at his family residence on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the age of 63 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Bridget Compton of 38 years, daughter Connie (Corey), sons; Lonnie (Trina), and Nelson, five grandchildren; Tyler, Christopher, Kristen, Brittany, and Brady, sisters; Ella Ellsworth of Thompson Manitoba, Matilda (Norman) of Englee, Hazel (Ron) of Irishtown, Susie Gushue (Cyril) of Irishtown, one brother Ray Compton (Ruth) of Thompson Manitoba, brothers-in-law Jack Byrne, Edmund Gushue, Harold Byrne, Lyle Layden, sister-in-law Annie Tarbett, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; Arthur & Susanna Compton, brothers; Malin Compton, Edward Compton, Lester Compton, Lindolph Compton, sisters; Alma Barrett, Diane Gushue, Jean Compton, Margaret Compton, sisters-in-law; Ellen White and Theresa Layden. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Saturday May 22, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Sunday May 23, 2010 from 10-12 noon. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 2 p.m at Humber United Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Kathy Brett officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
