(nee Goobie) - Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on Sunday, June 23, 2002, Viola Sparkes, aged 82 years. Predeceased by her husband Nelson B. Sparkes in 1999. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, her children: Hubert (May) Sparkes, Wayne (Dona) Sparkes, Gail (Ed) Farell, Drexel (Nancy) Sparkes, all of Glovertown; also two step-daughters: Susie (Charles) Steel, Saint John, N.B. and Janet (Lewis) Perry of Dartmouth, N.S. Also leaving to mourn ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Oram`s Funeral Home, Glovertown. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 2 p.m. from Central United Church, Glovertown. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram`s Funeral Home, Glovertown, Nfld.
