- STONE, William Edward (Bill) - Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at the Health Sciences Complex, William Edward Stone, aged 82 years. World War II Veteran, 59th Regiment, #970796, member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 1, St. John`s, also a member of the Masonic Lodge, St. Andrew. Predeceased by his loving wife Muriel Florence (Drover), January 2000 and his mother Grace, 1990. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, one son Ronald (Netha); three daughters: Carol, Maxine (George Churchill), Guelph, ON and Grace (Eugene Crane); seven grandchildren: Rhonda (Glen Bolger), Craig Churchill (Heather), Blair Churchill, Lynnette Churchill, Heather Stone, Pamela Crane and William Crane; two great-grandchildren; sister Olive Hudson; sisters-in-law: Ethel (Eric Smith), Hodges Cove, Jean Smith, Hodges Cove, Loretta (Welsey Lambert), Hatchet Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday from 12 noon - 10 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral service to be held at the Church of Ascension, Smallwood Drive, Mount Pearl at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association.
