- King, Beatrice - Passed away in the presence of her family at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Friday, December 23, 2005, Beatrice King, aged 77 years. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Whalen; stepmother, Lillian; and brothers Kitchener, Nathanial, Edgar and Harold. Left with fond and loving memories her husband, Otto of 52 years; two sons, Donald (June) at Adeytown and Clyde (Lorraine) at Hillview; one daughter, Barbara (Woodrow) at St Jones Within; three grandchildren, Janie, David and Kyle; three brothers, Albert (Kathleen) at Kilbride, Fred (Alma) at Caplin Cove and Eldred (Jean) at Long Beach; two sisters, Alice Wade at Caplin Cove and Gertie (Edgar) Smith at Gooseberry Cove; three sisters-in-law, Rosetta and June Whalen at Caplin Cove and Lillian Whalen at St. John's. She will also be remembered with fond memories by William and Venie King at St Jones Within and Dulcie Flight and Walter Greeley at St. John's; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews and relatives and friends.
Rested at Faith United Church, St Jones Within, from where the funeral service, officiated by Reverend Glenn Jarvis, took place on December 26, 2005. She was laid to rest at United Church Cemetery, St. Jones Within. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour, Random Island.
