  DEATH: COOMBS, Lester (Gandhi)- Passed peacefully away at his residence on Sunday, May 23, 2004, Lester Coombs, aged 85 years. Predeceased by parents George and Mary, brothers Donald and Herbert and sister Blanche Chafe. Leaving to mourn his wife of 52 years, Audrey (nee Bonner); two daughters, Allynne Jones (Dr. Gordon) of Palm Coast, FL., Karen Brown (Bert Scheepers) of Russell, ON.; one son, Eric (Marie Walsh); one granddaughter, six grandsons, also other relatives and a large circle of friends, especially Lloyd and Patsy Chafe. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at 2 p.m. from Cochrane Street United Churchwith interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation. May 25, 2004
