Annie died on 3 August 1997 of pneumonia. Her obituary was printed in The Telegram:
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G..B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, August 3, 1997, Annie Vey of Long Beach, age 87 years.Predeceased by husband John in 1992. Leaving to mourn with fond and lovin gmemories are one daughter: Frances Smith (William) at Hatchet Cove; four sons: Robert (Hazel) at Clarenville, Lawrence (Myrna), John (Dorothy), Howard (Doris) all of Long Beach; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and a circle of relatives and friends. Rested at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Long Beach. Funeral service took place 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 1997, from the Anglican Church, Long Beach with interment at the Anglican Cemetery.
