- Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital on September 29, 2021, Eldred Avery, aged 82 years. Predeceased by his wife Jean (Smith), his parents William and Susie Avery, his sister Maxine Soucy.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his children, Edison (Chris), Maxine (Craig), Corinne (Dennis); brothers, Wilson Avery (Beulah), David Stoyles (Hazel); grandchildren, Justina, Jarod, Christoper (Alanna), Jordan (Erin), Cole (Tabatha); great grandchildren Taylor, James and Sallie-Jean. Special mention of his sister-in-law June Whalen who with her daily calls helped fill his life with love, laughter and a scattered good-natured argument, his sisters-in-law Gertie Green and Lorraine Baker, brother-in-law Jacob Drover, and a large circle of nephews and nieces, family and friends, including the Whalen and Stringer Families. We would like to thank Total Care and his home care worker and Angel here on earth, Elaine Spurrell. Special mention to his other workers, Wanda Drodge, Gracie Strong, Joan Peddle, Christine Spurrell, Lori Spurrell, Krista Spurrell and Joy Ryan.
Visitation to take place from 2-9 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 and funeral service to take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrews United Church, Hodge's Cove with internment to follow at United Church Cemetery, Long Beach. Anyone wishing to attend visitation please contact Maxine at 766-5913, funeral service will be by invitation only. Full COVID restrictions will be adhered to including face masks and full vaccinations must be completed for at least 14 days.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Care Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Barrett's Funeral Home.
