Born in Melvern Square, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late Burpee and Hattie Ward. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas. Ted will be greatly missed and always loved by the residents & staff of New Vision Home. Surviving are his daughter, Pat Sweet, Gooseberry Cove, Newfoundland. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary V. Ward; brother, Prescott Ward. Visitation will take place from 12 noon until 2 p.m. followed by a Royal Canadian Legion Service and Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Monday January 12, all in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Chaplain Jim Norton officiating, with burial in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. FROST, Elsie Viola (nee Batten) It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Frost announces her passing on Monday, April 9, 2018, at the age of 77 years. Elsie was predeceased by her parents Nathaniel and Emma (Atkins) Batten; brother Douglas Batten; nephew Colin Lester Basha; brother in law Ronald Pepin; and three sisters, Marjorie, Ethel and Eleanor Batten.

Left to mourn are her two daughters, Tina Louise Frost and Kimberly Michelle Frost of Toronto; sisters Doris Pepin and Laura Hirst of Toronto, ON; Evelyn (Alfred) Skanes of Cambridge, ON; brother Walter Batten of St. John's, NL; sister in law Lorraine Batten of Glenwood, NL; as well as her nieces, nephews, cousins and a large number of extended family and friends.

Cremation has already taken place, and a memorial service held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00am at The Salvation Army Scarborough Citadel in Toronto. Interment will follow at a later date in her home town of Bell Island, Newfoundland.

Donations in Elsie's name may be made to either The Salvation Army Scarborough Citadel in Toronto, or the Church of St. Cyprian and St. Mary, Anglican Parish of Bell Island in Newfoundland.

It is with deep sadness, that we the family of our beloved brother Don, announce his passing at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on February 2, 2017 at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Mary Ellen Pelley, sisters: Daphne Noseworthy (Andrew), Cassie and Betty; brothers: Boyce and Calvin; sisters-in-law: Joan and Mamie Pelley. Left with loving memories, brothers: Tom, Portugal Cove, Harry, Shoal Harbour and Bob (Ruby), Gander; sister Margaret Dufort (Paul), St. John's. Also leaving to mourn, many nieces, nephews and other family members. Special caring friends, Bill and Rona Maidment, Lindo Palmer and Fraser Russell, Clarenville. A sincere thank you to the staff at Golden Heights Manor Bonavista for their care and kindness shown to Don. Cremation has taken place, with inurnment to take place at a later date at the Shoal Harbour Cemetery, Church Hill. Donations in Don's memory may be made to the Shoal Harbour United Church Cemetery Fund or to a charity of one's choice. Much of the beauty of life is found in the people who care for others. Rest in Peace, brother Don.

239 DEAN, Herber John Charles - Passed suddenly away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on January 25, 2008, Herber John Charles Dean, age 70, from Random Heights, Random Island. Predeceased by parents, Alex and Clara, and by sister, Maude Warren. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Florence, children, Cindy (Bill), Mark (Cindy), Krystle (Matt). Also leaving to mourn and will never be forgotten are his special grandchildren, Nick and Hayley; sisters, Evelyn (George Reynolds), Mary (John Bowring), Lorraine Duke; brothers, George (Gertie) and Wilbur (Norma) and also a number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Nathan Cutler, took place on Sunday, January 27, 2008 with interment following at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville.

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ralph Guy Blundell, age 77, from Hickman's Harbour, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on April 9, 2011. Predeceased by parents, Harrison and Mary (nee King) and wives, Clarice (nee Duffett) and Alice (nee Simmons-Marsh). He is survived by daughters Millicent (Bob) and Valerie (Bruce); son Derek (Sherry); brother Frank (Laura); grand-children, Michael (Tammy), Travis (Amanda), Steven, John. Jenelle and Brady; great grand-children, Mason, Madison, Ethan and Brooke; nieces, Kim and Kelly; nephew, Jeff as well as all members of Alice's family and a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. Funeral service, officiated by Captain Reid Colbourne and Major Phyllis Blundell-Colbourne, took place on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from the Salvation Army, Hickman's Harbour. Ralph was laid to rest at a place where he always aspired to be, Beckford's Hill, Salvation Army Cemetery, Hickman's Harbour.

Leaving to mourn with precious memories sister, Sylvia (Eric), Hatchet Cove; brother, Pierce (Cathy), Toronto; daughter, Melanie, Red Head Cove, CB; son Sreven, Geand Prairie, Alberta; and their mother, Loretta, Dawson Creek, BC. Also lovingly remembered by nieces, Tammy (Neil), Sarah and Tara; nephew, Shawn; and Aunt Jean Smith, Hodge's Cove. Will also be rembered by his cousins, relatives and a large number of friends in Newfoundland and across Canada. Funeral service was held at St. Stephen's Church, Hatchet Cove on Monday, March 18.
