It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Sylvia Lorraine Vey, age 86, from Long Beach at the Dr.G.B.Cross Memorial Hospital , Clarenville on March 16, 2022.
Sylvia Vey (nee Smith) was born "on the hill" in Hodges Cove on June 17, 1935 to two wonderful parents Delilah and Jacob Smith. She married Eric Vey in July 1959 and together they had 4 children :Juanita Vey, Raymond Vey (Tina), Diane Vey-Morawski (Kevin), Pauline Vey (Dean Lawerence). She had 5 grandchildren: Crystal, Megan ,Brandon, Dylan, Kristen and 2 grandchildren: Taishya and Maci. She had wonderful friends, inlaws and extended family throughout her life. Through all the trials and tribulations of her life she approached it with a smile and a positive attitude. Her motto was that someone always had it worst. Her legacy is that she knew how to take pleasure in the simple things in life such as going for a ride and getting a custard cone, watching one of her many game shows and cnn and enjoying time spent with her family. She knew how to enjoy life and appreciate the smallest of blessings. She was loved and if love could have kept her here on this earth she would have lived forever. Always in our hearts.
