- Mrs. Alma K. (McCarron) Collins, 93 years, formerly of Lynn died peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in Charlottesville, Virginia with her family by her side. She is the wife of the late John F. Collins. She was born in Lynn the daughter of the late George B. and Eva (Bourque) McCarron. She was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. She lived in Lynn all of her life. She moved to Virginia in 2003 to be closer to her grandchildren.
She was a very active parishioner at St. Mary??(TM)s Church in Lynn. She enjoyed a full life of spending time supporting and loving family, traveling, gardening and enjoying life with her dear friend Mary Dunn. She spent 40 years of service with the General Electric Company in their instrument department at the West Lynn Plant. i
Alma is the grandmother of Walter Linn Burns V and David Alfred Burns both of Virginia, Kathleen Burns Denniston of Pennsylvania and Elizabeth Anne Burns- Lehnartz of the Netherlands. She is the great grandmother of Elizabeth, Jamie, Maggie Denniston, Nathan and Kevin Burns, and Oskar and Maxine Lehnartz She also leaves a sister: Marie (McCarron) Crist of Danvers, a sister in law: Caroline McCarron of Peabody, several cousins and several nieces and nephews. She is the mother of the late Lt. Col Walter Linn Burns IV and his wife Janet (Maloney) Burns Sister of the late Mary "Bonnie" McCarron- Kelly, James, George, and Donald McCarron.
Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rte 129) Lynn followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Lynn at 10:00 AM Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Sunday 3 to 6 PM.
