  Passed away suddenly at her residence in St. John`s on Thursday, January 8, 2004, Mary McCormick (nee Smith), formerly of Southport, Trinity Bay, in her 78th year. Predeceased by her husband Louis in 1969 and daughter Michelle Stones in 2003. Leaving to mourn daughters Mary Lou Vokey (Wayne) and Sharon Smith, St. John`s; son-in-law Michael Stones, New Zealand; grandchildren Paul Vokey (Denise), Edmonton; Dana Power (Barry), Rebecca and Stephen Smith, St. John`s; Sarah, Gavin and Callie Stones, New Zealand; great-grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas and Samantha Power, St. John`s; also leaving to mourn are her sisters Florence Barrett, Nellie Vivian, Leoni Genge (Preston), Gander; Marjorie Collins, Winnifred Bell (Bob), Ontario; brothers Hubert Smith (Leona), New Brunswick; Ken Smith (Bev), British Columbia; as well as a wide circle of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. At Mary`s request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, January 10, and Sunday, January 11 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.
