It is with great sadness that the families of Mose Arthur Smith announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL, on Friday, December 7th, 2012, at the age of 88 years. predeceased by his precious wife; Nellie Nichols, he will be sadly missed by his daughters; Gloria (Selby) Hancock of Deer Lake, NL, & Marion (Ed) Kent of St. John's, NL, granddaughters; Calla (Rick), & Alaina (Jay), great granddaughter; Caitlin (Jeff), great grandson; Cody, & great great granddaughter; Molly. Also leaving to mourn his brother; Jim (Sadie), brothers in law; Calvin (Edna), Bruce (Alma), Melvin (Grace), Terry (Georgina), Ivan (Joan), Wayne (Donna) Nichols, sisters in law; Alice, Irene (Gar), & Sharon (Randy), and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family & friends. He always had a twinkle in his eye, a story to tell and a smile for everybody, especially "his girls" Teena & Marlene, whose visits he treasured. His long-time friends Gordon (Betty) Head, & Rufus Hutchings, as well as his coffee buddies & the Motel staff brought him much joy. The family received family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Sunday, December 9th, 2012, from the hours of 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. The funeral service will take place Monday, December 10th, 2012, at 11: am from the St. Michael's & All Angels Anglican Church in Deer Lake, NL, with Rt: Rev: Leonard Whitten, officiating with the burial to follow at the Anglican Church section of the Wight's Road, Deer lake, NL. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL. As expressions of Sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mose memory to the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL, & or to the St. Michael's & All Angels Building Fund would be graciously appreciated by the family.
