Happy 100th birthday to Besie Avery who celebrates her birthday on Nov. 16. Mrs. Avery, formerly from Long Beach, now resides at the Sunshine Manor, Clarenville. Best wishes from sons Gordon (and Grace) in Toronto, and Eleazer (and Myra) in North West Brook; daughters Blanche (and Clarence) in North Harbour, and Yvonne in Clarenville; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
Bessie died on 5 March 2009. Her obituary was printed in The Packet:
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, March 5, 2009, Bessie Avery of Clarenville, aged 100 years. Predeceased by her husband Edwin and daughter Phyllis Avery. Left with fond and loving memories her daughter Blanche Eddy (Clarence) of North Harbour and Yvonne Avery of Clarenville; sons Gordon (Grace), Toronto, ON and Eleazer (Myra), North West Brook; sister Edna Spurrell, Clarenville; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Sunday, March 8, 2009 from Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.
