- Passed away suddenly at St. Clare's Hospital on February 26, 2009, Susie Gwendolyn (Vey) Parsons, age 92. Formerly of Long Beach, Trinity Bay, but resided in St. John's. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell, 1981; sons-in-law: Ming Kao, 2006 and Levi Squires, 2008; grandson, Edward Squires, 2004. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters: Joan Squires and Sylvia Kao; son Dave (Jasmine); six grandchildren: Christopher, Ruth, Andy, David, Heather and Jillian; ten great-grandchildren: Edward, Mathew, Kyle, Patrick, Catherine, Alyssa, Samantha, Dylan, Joshua and Jeremy; sister Ethel Thomas; brother-in-law Chesley Parsons; sister-in-law Maude Babb and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Monday, March 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. from St. Augustine's Anglican Church with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
