| 1311 | Arnold "Arny" Bargielski of Arlington Heights Arnold "Arny" Bargielski was born on April 10, 1945, in Erie, Pa., to Arnold and Mary Gertrude (nee Smith) Bargielski. He died Monday, June 4, 2012, at his home. Mr. Bargielski served in the Army with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He worked as a certified public accountant and retired as a partner with Coopers and Lybrand. He has been a self-employed consultant specializing in developing vacant property and helping lenders with distressed inventory. Arnold is survived by his spouse of 32 years, Mary Anne Bargielski (nee Blameuser), whom he married Aug. 18, 1979; his mother; his sister, Anne Carolyn (Bob) Butler; his brothers-in-law, William (Sue) Blameuser and Robert (Ruth) Blameuser; and many nieces, nephews,great-nieces and great-nephews. Arny was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Dale; and his brother-in-law, Edward Blameuser. Visitation will be from 3 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Born in Hillview, N.L., he was a son of the late Elias and Edith (Churchill) Avery. He was a veteran of the Second World War in the Merchant Marines. He was an avid bird-watcher, hunter, fisherman and enjoyed camping. He enjoyed crosswords, hockey, cooking and bingo. Ross enjoyed working with his hands and doing his own handyman repairs around the house. He loved dogs, and had them most of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Joseph) Avery; daughters, Gloria Bernard, both of Dartmouth; and Katherine Kelly, Corner Brook, N.L.; sisters, Marita Russell, Corner Brook; Geneva (Walter) Loucks, Lincoln Park, Mich.; Brenda (Stan) Halfyard, Woody Point, N.L.; brothers, Austin (Marie), Mission, B.C.; and Leander, Clarenville, N.L.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Dauphinee and Audrey; brother, Ellis. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 21, with a memorial service to be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, both in A.L.
