1738	Death of Mr. Frost. A wire was received in town last evening making known the death of .Mr. Nehemiah Frost, a well-known business man of Northern Bight, T.B. He fell in the water a year ago from his boat and contracted a chill from the effects of which he never recovered. He was in his 76th year and was one of the most prominent planters of that part of Trinity Bay. He had many friends in this city who will, be sorry to learn that he has gone. The Telegram extends sympathy.(Evening Telegram, April 15, 1909 Dear Sir:- We are sorry to record the death of Mr. Nehemiah Frost, of this place. Deceased was 76 years of age, and for the past forty years carried on an extensive business. He supplied largely and did business with many around Trinity Bay. The statement that Mr. Frost fell overboard from his boat a year ago (made by your paper) is false. In December, 1907, Mr. Frost suffered from a severe attack of lagrippe and since that time has suffered from an acute internal disease, and on Wednesday, [April] the 14th [1909], passed peacefully away. 1750	Delight Rushmore Lewis, 104, of Madison, a potter, photographer, and Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps and American Red Cross volunteer, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 10, 2017. She was born on Alexander Avenue in Madison on April 9, 1912, to Arthur W. and Edna Keeler Rushmore, and was graduated from Madison High School in 1929. The family moved to 59 Fairview Ave., where she grew up and, with her father, established Bottle Hill Pottery. Her pottery was sold exclusively by the New York shop of Mariano Fortuny, and pieces from the 1930s are in the collection of the Newark Museum. Mrs. Lewis created decorative paste paper which was used in special editions of The Golden Hind Press, the Rushmores' private press, and on limited editions published by Harper and Brothers, N.Y. Her work is documented in two books by James H. Fraser. A lifelong photographer, she taught photography at the Walter Reed Medical Center during World War II, and later documented her extensive world travels. She was a dedicated volunteer for many decades with the American Red Cross and the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Mrs. Lewis is remembered for her gift for friendship, her generosity and her zest for life. Her husband, Faulkner Lewis, also of Madison, died 30 years ago. She is survived by her daughter, Edna Rushmore Macphail and her son-in-law, W. Alasdair B. Macphail, of Niantic, Conn.; and two beloved grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. A private celebration of her life will be held in April.
