3201 Robert is not listed with his wife Sarah in the 1921 census and she is listed as a widow. Gosse, Robert (I958)

3202 Robert Smith is believed to have been born in Bishops Cove, Conception Bay  in 1837. He married Emily Ann Barrett, daughter of Jacob and Diana (Smith) Barrett.

Robert and Emily moved from Bishop’s Cove to Island Cove in 1873. Their eldest son, Lorenzo, made the move with them, however, their second son, Moses, remained in Bishop’s Cove with Emily’s brother and family, Moses Barrett and Emma Hennessey. It is said that their third son, Ebenezer, was born in Bailey’s Cove during their move to Island Cove.

Around the same time, Isaac and Elizabeth (Barrett) Smith also made the move from Bishop’s Cove to Island Cove. At this time we do not know what the relationship was between Robert and Isaac but their wives – Emily Ann and Elizabeth – were sisters.
