daughter Susanna, thus began the Churchills in Hodges Cove.
These people were of the Church of England faith and John was of the
Methodist faith. However Susanna is buried in the old Church of England
Cementy in Hodges Cove.
Interestingly her two grandchildren Albert (of Caleb & Susie) and
Harold (of Albert & Rhoda) are buried along side of her, but
both were born in the Methodist faith.

Most of her children are registered as being born in Queens Cove.
Because the family operated a saw-mill, in the Goobies area.,known as Sewards Mill Pond.

Will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by sons Wesley (Viola), Lab. In the beautiful garden along with Our Precious Lord will be her loving Husband Levi John Smith (2004); her parents, Albert H. and Gertrude Penney (Lewis); her parents in law: Issac and Rose Smith (Breaker); sister: Marjorie and brothers-in-law: Richard Flynn, Arthur Mighton, Gilbert Lidstone; brother: Herbert Penney and sister-in-law: Nellie Smith. Leaving with fond and loving memories are her three children and one very special Grandson Gerry, whom she raised from the time he was five days old as her own child; one son: Derek (Marie) Smith, Thornville, Ohio; grandson: Gerry L. It is with great sadness that the families of Mose Arthur Smith announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL, on Friday, December 7th, 2012, at the age of 88 years. predeceased by his precious wife; Nellie Nichols, he will be sadly missed by his daughters; Gloria (Selby) Hancock of Deer Lake, NL, & Marion (Ed) Kent of St. John's, NL, granddaughters; Calla (Rick), & Alaina (Jay), great granddaughter; Caitlin (Jeff), great grandson; Cody, & great great granddaughter; Molly. Also leaving to mourn his brother; Jim (Sadie), brothers in law; Calvin (Edna), Bruce (Alma), Melvin (Grace), Terry (Georgina), Ivan (Joan), Wayne (Donna) Nichols, sisters in law; Alice, Irene (Gar), & Sharon (Randy), and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family & friends. He always had a twinkle in his eye, a story to tell and a smile for everybody, especially "his girls" Teena & Marlene, whose visits he treasured. His long-time friends Gordon (Betty) Head, & Rufus Hutchings, as well as his coffee buddies & the Motel staff brought him much joy. The family received family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Sunday, December 9th, 2012, from the hours of 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. The funeral service will take place Monday, December 10th, 2012, at 11: am from the St. Michael's & All Angels Anglican Church in Deer Lake, NL, with Rt: Rev: Leonard Whitten, officiating with the burial to follow at the Anglican Church section of the Wight's Road, Deer lake, NL. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie Marie Smith announce her passing on Monday July 19th, 2004 at the W.M.R. Hospital in her 70th year. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Mose; two daughters: Gloria (Selby) Hancock of Deer Lake, and Marion (Edward) Kent of St. John's; two granddaughters: Calla of Fort McMurray and Alaina of St. John's; two great grandchildren: Caitlin and Cody; her mother Rita Nichols of Deer Lake; six brothers: Calvin (Edna), Bruce (Alma), Melvin (Grace) all of Deer Lake, Terry (Georgina) of Kitchener, Ivan (Joan) of Deer Lake and Wayne (Donna) of Scarbrough, Ontario; three sisters: Irene (Gar), Sharon (Randy), both of Deer Lake, and Alice of Nebraska. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Roy Nichols in 1986. Visitation will take place today, Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Parsons Funeral Home, 63 Northmain Street Deer Lake. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Anglican church in Deer Lake with Rev. Barter officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot on Wights Road. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home, Deer Lake.

3297 Smith, Victor Kenmore (Vic) - Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Center, on February 1st, 2017, Victor Smith. Age 84 years. Of St. John's and Long Beach, Trinity Bay. He was a loving husband for 64 years to Aneta (Vey). The adored father of son, Jeffrey; daughters, Barbara (Biff), Diane and Cindy (Ken); and very proud grandfather to Simone and Charlotte Warren and Emily and Jamie Strain. Victor was born in Hodges Cove, T.B. to Bramwell and Dorothy Smith and was part of a large and loving family: three brothers: Eric, Clyde and Bramwell Jr. and four sisters: Clarice, Maud, Caroline and Lenora. Also who uncle Vic took a special interest in their lives are his many nieces and nephews and their families near and far. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service to be announced at a later date.
